Another dude I have been fortunate enough to cross paths with in this crazy world is Adam from Copasquat Toys! Adam is a quiet and humble guy who is so amazingly talented that he really needs to be on your radar. Everything Adam does has such an amazing quality and attention to detail. His sculpts are super clean and well thought out, with tons of detail that fit each figure so perfectly. Adam is a class act. In his art and as a human. I love hanging out with him at conventions and we keep in touch the rest of the year, so I was super stoked (and honored) that I got to do a run of his 4 newest sculpts in the Fumetsu series (L-R, Top to B): Erewon, Kurzweil, Vinge & Neumann! These were a clear pink marble base, and I added some shake-action LED's into the inners. I love so much about each one of these figures, and tried my best to give them a lot of TLC, bright accents, and a little bastardized nod to old school classic paint apps all in one. Release info coming soon, follow @copasquattoys (or me) on IG for release details!

One of the seriously coolest guys I've met in this crazy vinyl world is BlurbleOne. He's one of those people who is not only an insanely talented, jack of all trades artist who just seems to be proficient no matter what medium they work in, but he's just an all around good guy. I can't imagine anyone ever saying anything about the dude, he's really that awesome. Kind and humble, always positive, amazing family man, caring friend. Both of our lives are so busy that we really don't get to cross paths very often, but I am always so stoked when we do and am so grateful to have gotten to know Mike. He was the guy who happily gave me Airbrush 101 in my hot garage years ago & created the airbrush monster in me. For all of these reasons and more, I really wanted to do this custom justice, and so here's my birthday present paint job for him on a GID YouZha by KearJun (@kearjun on IG). I had all these plastic babies I've been saving for who knows what, and so this seemed the perfect companion for this guy :D Happiest of brithdays to you Mike! Go check out his site & support him,
Shub Zeroth is one of my favorite things on the planet to paint, so when the awesome dudes at Metacrypt hit me up to paint for them again, I was of course more than happy to oblidge. It's not only such an honor and priviledge to get to paint these, but design wise, I also just love every aspect of this figure and pour my heart into this guy each time I get my hands on him! It's been interesting to get to dabble in this crazy sofubi world when I can. How this one works is I'm usually presented with a concept to interpret, in ths case, an Apollo-astronaut colorway! These were a crisp white base vinyl, which can be a little intimidating to work with sometimes, and my first test version was a bit different than this one. After test 1 review, we discussed some tweaks, and above is what became the final version. Making someone else's vision a reality is always a cool but challenging experience because everyone involved has a different picture they an see in their head, but we have to work togther really closely to make both pictures end up as one. Shub is one that always seems to eventually click really well once we are there. Huge thank you to Brian & Justin for entrusting your baby to me yet again. Shub Zeroth will be up for grabs Friday, June 24th at 10am Pacific Time on the Meta-Cyrpt site here. UPDATE: SOLD OUT! Thank you to everyone who grabbed one.
It had been a while since I had time to paint on canvas, so I was itching to get back to it, and with the Media Blackout show I was invited to, I thought this would be the perfect tribute piece to jump back in with. For this show we were told to create a new piece, and not post pictures until after the opening. Funny thing in today's world. So here's my piece, the day after the opening! Admidst all the recent talents gone in 2016, Sean Price was a huge bummer for me, gone way too soon like all the others. We all have our heroes, our inspirations, our favorites. If you aren't familiar, here's a good place to start, and if you are familiar and are able, you can make a donation towards his wife and children's fund here.
You can see this piece in the month of June as a part of the Media Blackout gallery show at Lulubell Toys, or you can purchase via my website in the store section here!
Whew! It's been a bit since I've posted any toy photos. Been super busy with lots of toy commissions and mural projects. So grateful for all the projects, but I need to get better at updating them here. My awesome friend Robert just sent me these phenomenal photos of some of my past runs and customs I've done. Follow him on IG (@xduchess_gummybunsx) to see some of the most creative and well shot toy photos you've ever seen! Eye candy of eye candy!
Here's a lil slideshow of all the shots he sent me. I love the reflections and how the colors pop off the black background. Hover over the top left corner of the photo below to start the show!
Oh, and by the way, if you like what you see, I love doing toy commissions! Email me via the contact us page for inquiries.
Thanks to everyone who came out for Spark! this weekend and said hi! It was so awesome to see so many familiar faces, and to meet a bunch of new ones too. If you didn't get a chance to make it out, you can still stop by the Mesa Art Center and check out the finished Art Cubes! Here's mine at the end of day 2. Got a bunch of emails and texts, and yes...you might recognize my lovely muse I based this one on :) Can't love this picture more with the new mural by El Mac and Mando Rascon in the background! Super stoked to be in the vicinity of two of my hometown heroes. Huge thank you to Mesa Art Center & Creative Catalysts for such a great weekend of art in Downtown Mesa!

The intenational street pianos exhibit called "Play Me, I'm Yours!" is coming to Downtown Mesa this year, and I just got my acceptance email! So I will be working with a community organization, College Bound, to create a design for one of the 24 pianos, and then I will set out to make that vision a reality in time for my piano to hit the streets in March! I am so grateful to be a part of this project. Thank you once again to Mesa Arts Center for bringing yet another amazing exhibit to Mesa!
From the Street Piano's website: "Touring internationally since 2008, Play Me, I’m Yours is an artwork by British artist Luke Jerram. More than 1400 pianos have now been installed in 50 cities across the globe, from London to Lima, bearing the simple invitation Play Me, I’m Yours, and the project has already reached more than eight million people worldwide."
Stay tuned for my piano progress and the event grand opening! #streetpianosmesa
